Position requires solid computer skills and the ability to navigate Microsoft Office Products such as Excel and Word efficiently. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner.
  • Accurately determine pricing by interpreting customer prints and utilizing quoting tools (i.e. Excel spreadsheets and shop software).
  • Gather pricing for outsourced material, metal finishing requirements, etc., providing accurate pricing to the customer.
  • Present price, credit, and terms in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Effectively communicate customer/job requirements to the engineering and production team.
  • Obtain accurate information from the operations team relating to lead times and expected shipment dates.
  • Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and proactively communicate any anticipated delays from original date to customer.

Mathematical Skills:

Being capable to read blueprints, Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ration, and percent and convert from or to metric dimensions.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands:

Work Environment:

Office environment with the requirement to go into the plant from time to time. While in the plant, ear and eye protection are required. Metalworking Solutions Names Nick Burrows President

 

Chattanooga, TN February 8, 2018:  Metalworking Solutions today announced Nick Burrows has been named President, effective immediately. As President, Burrows will have full responsibility for the company and leading the organization into the future.

Burrows, 39, has been with the company since its inception. He implemented the initial systems, processes and organizational policies in support of the company’s vision and has led Metalworking Solutions team in evolving these practices and systems as the business has grown.

“Nothing at Metalworking Solutions will change with this announcement”, said Bill Hewgley, Chairman, Metalworking Solutions. “As Executive Vice President and General Manager, Nick has been performing this role, leading our team to over 158% revenue growth over the past five years. He’s earned the title and I couldn’t be more proud and pleased with his performance and the performance of our team.”

Burrows received his Bachelor Degree in Accounting and Computer Information Systems and his Master of Business Administration from the University of North Alabama. Nick and his wife, Katie, Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach for UTC, have two girls and reside in the Lookout Valley area.

CNC Turret Punch Operator

Ideal candidates will have two or more years’ experience with Amada or similar CNC turret punch machines. The ability to identify different gauges and alloys of sheet metal is critical to this individual’s success.

  • Operate the CNC Turret Punch and other machinery used in the production process, or assist other machine operators.
  • Select proper die clearances based on material requirements.
  • Set up tooling, load programs, and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.
  • Determine condition of tools and point of re-sharpening.
  • Re-sharpen punches and dies as needed.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with fast-changing priorities.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.

  • Review and be able to suggest improvements to Customer supplied drawings for improved manufacturability and cost reduction.
  • Verifies part dimensions, materials to be used, the relation of one part to another, and the relation of various parts to the overall assembly.
  • Computes angles, circumferences, volumes. Determines clearances for assembly of various components.
  • Utilizes knowledge of various manufacturing processes, engineering practices, mathematics, materials, and other physical sciences to produce designs and drawings.
  • Drafts detailed multi-view drawings of parts and assemblies.
  • Follows established company standards for electronic file maintenance and organization.
  • Communicates with Sales, Production, Purchasing, and General Manager as necessary to meet company objectives and standards of quality.
  • Work well with associates, vendors, and customers, with little or no supervision. Must be a team player with excellent communication and people skills.
